Banyule's ready

We cannot fund all of the infrastructure and programs our community needs on our own. That is why we advocate across all levels of government to secure the funding and influence the policies our community needs to thrive.

The Victorian state election will be held on Saturday 28 November 2026. The lead‑up to this election provides an ideal opportunity to share our priorities with local candidates. We encourage them to consider local needs when shaping their election commitments.

We are taking a politically-neutral approach, and will be tracking any election commitments that specifically relate to Banyule and align with our priorities.

We do not endorse any political party or candidate.

We work in partnership with other councils and alliances to advocate for shared objectives and sector-wide benefits.

Raising awareness to your cause

Community-led advocacy includes a range of targeted activities to influence the opinions and decisions of governments to support a project, policy or program.

We have developed an easy-to-read toolkit to help you advocate for issues that are important to you.

This resource guides your journey as you build your own advocacy campaign, big or small, and includes:

  • checklists
  • templates
  • tip sheets.
