If you own a property you are required to pay rates each year.

Your rates contribute to the cost of delivering community services and infrastructure, such as waste collection, immunisation services, roads, kerbs and footpaths, parks, libraries and leisure centres.

Paying your rates

Council rates are payable in 4 instalments. The due dates are the same each year:

  • 1st instalment: 30 September
  • 2nd instalment: 30 November
  • 3rd instalment: 28 February
  • 4th instalment: 31 May.

You must pay by the due date to avoid interest and collection costs.
