Volunteer awards

The Banyule Volunteer Awards recognise and honour outstanding individuals and groups who significantly contributed to:

  • the development of their organisation
  • the local community and
  • have had a positive impact on the quality of life of our residents.

Nominations open

Nominate an individual

Presented to individuals who have made a significant contribution to not-for-profit organisations in Banyule or to organisations outside Banyule where a significant benefit is provided locally. Self nominations not accepted.

Lifetime nomination

Presented in honour of an individual who has made an exemplary life-long contribution to volunteering for over 20 years and who, through their volunteering, has contributed to the betterment of the our community. Self nominations not accepted.

Nominate a young individual

Presented to individuals between age 12-25 (as of 1 January 2026) who have made a significant contribution to not-for-profit organisations in Banyule or to organisations outside Banyule where a significant benefit is provided locally. Self nominations not accepted.

Nominate a group

Recognises a group, event, campaign or movement (not an individual) that has made a significant and meaningful impact on the Banyule community over the past 3 years.

What next?

Short listed award nominees will be sent an invite to the awards celebration.

Award will be presented to recipients and announced at a celebration event in May.
