The Financial Plan 2025-2035  outlines how we will remain financially sustainable with an outlook of at least 10 years while continuing to deliver services, maintain assets and support community priorities. It defines the broad fiscal boundaries for the Banyule Plan, Asset Plan, and other strategic plans of Banyule.

To achieve this, we will manage spending responsibly, improve efficiency, reduce debt, maintain strong cash reserves, invest in infrastructure, and seek external funding opportunities.

The plan benefits our community by helping us maintain high-quality services, keep infrastructure and public spaces in good condition, manage rates responsibly, and continue investing in facilities, sustainability initiatives and projects that support Banyule’s future growth and wellbeing.

The Active Banyule Plan 2025-2030 outlines our vision for an active, healthy and connected community by increasing participation in sport, recreation and physical activity for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

To deliver this vision, we will improve access to affordable and inclusive programs, support local clubs and community organisations, maximise the use of existing facilities, invest in walking and cycling infrastructure, strengthen partnerships, and better promote local opportunities to be active. We will track progress through annual public reporting.

The plan will benefit our community through better physical and mental health, stronger social connections, improved access to quality facilities and open spaces, and more opportunities for everyone to participate in activities that suit their needs and interests.

The Ageing Well in Banyule Framework 2024 2030 sets our vision for making Banyule an age friendly community where older adults can live well, stay connected and continue contributing to community life. It focuses on addressing ageism, supporting healthy ageing, improving access to information, and increasing social participation and inclusion.

To deliver this framework, we will provide programs and services that support health and wellbeing, improve access to community activities, advocate for better transport, housing and aged care, enhance public spaces, and strengthen communication with older adults.

The framework will benefit our community by improving wellbeing, social connection, accessibility, inclusion, independence and opportunities for older adults to participate and thrive.

We will do this by improving and upgrading facilities, increasing participation, supporting equitable access, developing a long-term asset management plan, monitoring performance, reducing environmental impacts, and progressing major projects such as the Ivanhoe Aquatic Centre upgrade.

We will also work with communities and partners to shape services and future planning. The benefits include better physical and mental health, improved water safety, greater social connection and inclusion, more accessible recreation opportunities, and sustainable facilities for a growing population.

The Asset Plan 2025-2035 sets out how we will manage and invest in Banyule’s infrastructure assets over the 10 years to keep them safe, reliable and financially sustainable.

We will maintain, renew and upgrade roads, footpaths, bridges, drainage, buildings, parks and open spaces based on asset condition, community priorities, future demand and climate considerations. The plan includes long-term funding, flood modelling, condition audits and improvements to asset management practices.

The main benefits for the community are safe and accessible infrastructure, well-maintained facilities and public spaces, reduced risk of asset failure, improved resilience to growth and climate change, and better value from public investment.
