As a lifelong resident of Banyule, born in Ivanhoe, raised in Macleod, lived in Heidelberg West, Ivanhoe, Macleod, Viewbank and Bellfield and worked in Greensborough, Watsonia, Rosanna, Heidelberg, Ivanhoe and Heidelberg West, Craig knows the City well.
He is committed to represent residents and the community to make a difference, improve the area and assist people, especially those that struggle. These are some of the key motivations that continue to see him run for Council.
Craig's work experiences include banking, residential youth work, administration and representing the area in State Parliament as well as Council.
As a councillor, he wants to ensure Banyule is a better place to live for everyone, from children to lifelong residents of the area. He wants to make a difference on behalf of everyone within the City including the First Peoples, multicultural communities, people with disabilities, families, the LGBTI community, and youth and retirees.
Craig's focus over the next four years is to continue to work with everyone to build on the success Council has achieved to date. His priorities include improving the quality of life in Banyule, protecting the environment, upgrading parks and reserves, and renewing the City's ageing assets and facilities.
Craig believes the biggest challenge for the Olympia Ward is to ensure all levels of government are committed to improving the area. "Council cannot do it alone. Federal, state and local governments must work together to achieve results for the local community," Craig said.
