Rates concessions for pensioners

If you are a pensioner, you may be eligible for a municipal concession (or rates rebate) up to $266.00 and a $50 rebate for the Emergency Services Volunteer Fund. This applies to the home in which you live in only.

Cards and eligibility

The Victoria Government has an online tool to help you understand your concessions and benefits. You can also request a booklet that provides detail on all concessions at concessions@health.vic.gov.au

You are eligible if you have a:

  • pensioner concession card from Centrelink or Veterans' Affairs
  • Gold Card from Department of Veterans’ Affairs specifying War Widow (WW) or Totally and Permanently Incapacitated (TPI).

Apply

To apply, complete the Department of Familes, Fairness and Housing: Municipal Rates Concession application form(PDF, 206KB).

Send the form to us with a photocopy of both sides of your concession card to:

You can also scan the form and your card and email il to enquiries@banyule.vic.gov.au

If you hold an EDA or POW Gold Card, you will need to claim your concession from the Department of Familes, Farness and Housing. Contact them on 1800 658 521 for help and information.
