The Waste Recovery Centre is currently unable to accept garden organics (FOGO), rubble and higher strength materials (including construction formwork plywood, poles, sleepers and oriented strand board) due to equipment repairs. Banyule’s planning requirements incorporate a suite of liveable housing features to ensure that new homes better meet the current and futures needs of our community.
Liveable Housing Design Guidelines were adopted by Council in early 2013, supported by clause 21.06, Built Environment, Objective 4, Housing Change of the Banyule Planning Scheme which states: 'Encourage design that meets the needs of people with impaired mobility and other special needs, or can be adapted to meet such needs.'
