The Banyule Story: our Annual Report for 2025–2026

The Banyule Story 2025-2026, also known as our Annual Report, is now available. It shares highlights, achievements and progress made across Banyule over the past financial year.

It is one way we report to you, our community, on our operations and performance. It shows how we are delivering on the Banyule Plan 2025-2029 and working towards our long-term Community Vision for a thriving, sustainable, inclusive, healthy and connected Banyule.

The Annual Report is presented in 3 parts, covering our activities and achievements, audited service and financial performance, and financial statements.

Key highlights

  • Investing $58.6 million in community infrastructure.
  • Opening the new Rosanna Library, which welcomed more than 2,100 people on its first day.
  • Supporting 18,014 young people through youth programs, events and support services.
  • Planting 12,566 indigenous plants in Banyule’s bushland reserves since October 2025.
  • Hearing from our community through 4,328 responses across 31 projects on Shaping Banyule.
  • Completing 94% of capital works projects on time.
  • Supporting people experiencing homelessness through the Banyule Assertive Community Outreach program.
  • Continuing to advocate for investment in the infrastructure and services our community needs.

Reflecting on the year, Mayor Cr Alison Champion said:

“It is my pleasure to present The Banyule Story 2025-2026 and to reflect on a year of significant achievement, investment and community impact.”

Mayor Cr Champion also thanked the volunteers, community organisations and residents who contribute to life in Banyule.

“Together, we are building a community that is welcoming, resilient and ready for the future.”

While we celebrate our achievements, the Banyule Story also looks at the challenges we faced and where there is more work to do. We remain committed to listening, learning and improving as we continue to deliver on what matters to our community.
