Our hearts are heavy today as we reflect on the tragic events that unfolded in Bondi, New South Wales on Sunday, 14 December 2025.
On behalf of Banyule City Council and our community, we extend our deepest heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones affected by this heartbreaking incident.
We stand in solidarity with the community during this difficult time and acknowledge the incredible efforts of community members, emergency services and first responders who acted with courage and compassion.
Let's come together in kindness and care for one another.
As part of Council's ongoing commitment to make Banyule a welcoming and inclusive community, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor have also represented Banyule Council through messages of support to the Jewish Community Council of Victoria, Combat Antisemitism Movement Australia and Elsedeaq Islamic Society of Melbourne.
