Charaters in BCC's waste education program on stage

Our Rethink Waste Education Centre has reopened with a new 2-hour theatrical production starring Land-Phil and Professor Comingle.

Land-Phil's Growing Problem: A Rethink Taskforce Adventure is a fun, interactive show designed to help primary school students rethink waste.

Students join the eccentric professor on a mission to uncover why a mysterious eco-entity named Land-Phil keeps growing larger and larger.

Through a series of challenges, adventures and hands-on learning, students explore the choices they can make to help create a more sustainable future.

The excursion also includes a behind-the-scenes look at a working recycling facility, bringing the waste journey to life.

School bookings

Schools are encouraged to book early to secure their preferred dates for this unique excursion that combines live theatre, sustainability education and real-world discovery.

Community events

Council’s Waste Education team runs a variety of programs for groups and organisations on how to reduce waste, recycle right and live more sustainably.

Whether you are curious about composting, keen to cut down on food waste or ready to rethink your recycling, there’s a program for you.

Take a look behind the scenes

To mark National Recycling Week, the Rethink Centre is hosting 2 events that take you behind the scenes at the Waste Recovery Centre in Bellfield.
