Plenty River Trail improvements

Plenty River Trail upgrade section

We are constructing a 3m-wide shared user path along the Plenty River between Old Plenty Road bridge and Lower Plenty Road, then building towards Towny Close in Lower Plenty.

We will be upgrading the existing trail by doing:

  • earthworks
  • concreting
  • installing new handrails
  • building new retaining walls
  • tree lopping and some green material removal.

During construction, this section of the Plenty River Trail will be closed. We thank you for your patience while these upgrades are occurring.

This project will help more of the community connect with some of our amazing parks and rivers.

Timeline

The Plenty River Trail will be built over a few stages beginning from Old Lower Plenty Road and building towards Towny Close in Lower Plenty.

  • Construction commences in April 2026
  • Construction completion in July 2026
