Notice of intent to sell 35 Hillside Road, Rosanna

Banyule City Council (Council) gives notice under Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 (Act) of its intention to sell land with a total area of approximately 465m2.

The land is located at 35 Hillside Road, Rosanna, and forms part of the land described in Certificate of Title Volume 8990 Folio 530, being Lot 2 on Plan of Subdivision PS99087 (the Subject Land). The property was previously used as the Rosanna Maternal and Child Health Centre until services were relocated earlier this year to purpose-built facilities at Rosanna Library.

Council resolved to issue this Notice of Intention to Sell at its meeting on 4 May 2026.

Council is not obliged to proceed with the sale following this process. It may consider whether the sale should include the existing pathway, which could result in its closure, or whether the pathway should be excluded from the sale. If Council proceeds, the sale is expected to occur in late 2026 or early 2027.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal. Submissions must be made within 28 days of the publication of this Notice, commencing Friday, 26 June 2026.

All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 114 of the Act and Council’s Community Engagement Policy 2021.

Written submissions must be received by 5pm on 24 July 2026.

Any person who requests to be heard in support of their submission is entitled to be heard before Council, or a committee established by Council for this purpose. They may also be represented by a person acting on their behalf.

If you wish to be heard at the Council meeting, or to be represented by a person identified in your submission, you must clearly state this in your written submission.

Submissions will be considered at a future Ordinary Meeting of Council. Council will then decide whether or not to sell the land at a future meeting.

If no submissions are received, Council may decide whether or not to sell the land at the next available Ordinary Meeting.

Any person making a written submission is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
