Join the Dogs in Banyule Working Group

Are you passionate about dogs and their wellbeing? Do you want to help make our community more dog friendly? We are looking for enthusiastic dog lovers to join our working group.
Whether you are a dog owner, work in the animal industry or simply enjoy being around our furry friends, this is your chance to have a positive impact on our community.
Together, we will work on projects and Domestic Animal Management Plan 2025-2029 initiatives and events that celebrate and support dogs in our municipality.
Who we are looking for
- Someone that lives, works, studies or has a relevant connection to Banyule.
- Someone with expertise in animal management through professional, educational or advocacy experience and/or pet ownership.
- Someone with strong links to the local community and/or relevant organisations.

Please submit a written expression of interest by 28 February 2026 addressed to Justine Busuttil, Municipal Laws & Public Assets Coordinator. You must read the full Dogs in Banyule Working Group terms of reference(PDF, 119KB) before contacting us.
We will be looking for expressions that address:
- Ability to support us in addressing key committee initiatives.
- Experience in animal management, welfare or ownership (for example as a pet owner, veterinarian, trainer or industry representative).
- Ability to contribute to discussions and provide perspectives that support responsible animal management initiatives.
- Communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work respectfully in a group representing a range of community and professional interests.
- Commitment to animal welfare and responsible pet ownership, aligned with our Domestic Animal Management Plan objectives.
- Ability to represent community views and/or industry expertise to ensure a balanced approach to decision-making.
- Commitment to an equitable, sustainable and livable Banyule.
