Join our experienced guides for an exciting evening of nature discovery at Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary. Children will participate in interactive activities that encourage curiosity about the natural world before heading out on a mini-twilight tour to experience the sanctuary as day turns to night.

What to expect

• Interactive nature-based activities designed for young children.
• A guided twilight tour lasting approximately 45 minutes.
• Flexible walking distances adjusted to suit the abilities of each group.
• The opportunity to look and listen for wildlife in their natural habitat, although sightings cannot be guaranteed as all animals within the sanctuary are wild and free-ranging.
• A family-friendly outdoor experience led by trained guides.

What to bring

• Your guide will provide a spotlight for the tour, so please do not bring your own torch.
• Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Thongs and high heels are not suitable for this activity.
• Mosquito repellent is recommended.
• The event will proceed in light rain. Participants will be contacted directly if extreme weather conditions require the event to be cancelled.

Adult supervision is required for all children attending.

The closest train station is Reservoir Station, with connecting bus services to La Trobe University. The nearest tram stop is Plenty Road/La Trobe University on Route 86. Bus routes serving the La Trobe University precinct include 301, 350, 561, 566 and 570, with stops within walking distance of the sanctuary entrance.
