The Waste Recovery Centre is currently unable to accept garden organics (FOGO), rubble and higher strength materials (including construction formwork plywood, poles, sleepers and oriented strand board) due to equipment repairs. Delays are expected from 18–25 June 2026. Opening hours remain unchanged. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while works are completed.
Join Frogs Victoria and the Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary for a family-friendly froggy event at the start of the September school holidays.
Activities will include a frog-themed scavenger hunt around the sanctuary and its wetlands, frog calling activity and a brief slide show beforehand. There are also some great prizes to be won.
This event is designed for for middle-upper primary aged children (ages 9-12), although they will be something for parents, younger and older siblings too. Adult supervision is required at all times
We are a true wildlife sanctuary so all animals within the sanctuary are wild and free to move around. We can not guarantee that you will see any wildlife, although you very likely to.
We may cancel in the event of extreme weather conditions (high winds or heavy rainfall) but we will contact you directly if that happens.
