Einvironment
The Banyule Northern Grassland Reserve forms part of the Darebin Creek Trail Park, an important wildlife corridor between Darebin Creek and the Birrarung (Yarra) River.
This 6-hectare reserve contains plains grassy woodland and many plant species that are unique within Banyule. Most of the remnant vegetation belongs to the endangered Grassy Eucalypt Woodland of the Victorian Volcanic Plain ecological community, which is listed under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act. Less than 5% of this ecological community remains.
