Beyond Age Project launch

Seniors holding images of themselves when younger

The Beyond Age Project is a special initiative that celebrates ageing and challenges negative stereotypes about growing older.

The project invited older people to share their stories through photographs and short quotes, revealing both who they are and who they were. Participants from the Watsonia 50 Plus Club and the Banyule Social Support Program came together in workshops to share advice they would give their younger selves, along with memories and life lessons shaped over time.

Highlighting lived experience, wisdom and personal reflection, their stories reflect resilience, kindness, and the valuable contributions older people make to our community.

What to expect

Along with a free lunch, the launch is an opportunity to view the photographs and celebrate our community’s voices, experiences and wisdom.

Who should attend

Members of the Banyule community inspired by the life stories of older residents.

Lunch included. Please provide any dietary requirements on registration.
