Olympic Park

Olympic Park entry

Over recent years, Olympic Park has undergone significant upgrades, including improved sports ovals, modern pavilions and enhanced community facilities.

These improvements support a range of sporting, recreation and community activities, helping the park remain a valued destination for local residents and visitors.

Supporting local sport

The new pavilion continues to serve local sporting clubs throughout the year. Olympic Colts Cricket Club uses the facilities during the summer season, while Heidelberg United Football Club calls the park home during winter.

As the precinct continues to evolve, there are also plans to expand community use of the pavilion during the day, creating more opportunities for people to connect, gather and participate in local activities.

Remember, dogs must be kept off ovals when in use for sport.

Celebrating history and culture

Olympic Park is an important landmark in Banyule, with strong connections to both the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games and First Nations culture. Visitors can explore public art installations, walk sections of the Spirit Trail and visit Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place, a welcoming location that celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culture and connection to Country

Together, these features make Olympic Park a place where sport, history and culture come together.
