2018-2019 Community Grants and Arts & Culture Grants

Banyule City Council aims to provide support to not for profit groups across the municipality through its annual Community Grants funding round.

A grant pool of $150,000 is available for grant proposals that support and enrich the local community.

Grants are available for a range of purposes:

Community Grants assist not-for-profit groups to address identified community needs with grants available for

Arts & Culture Grants support projects in any medium which develop, create, present, exhibit or distribute works to the general public. These grants are available to both individuals and groups.

  • Arts Grants – up to $10,000

Applications for the 2018 – 2019 Community Grants and Arts & Culture Grants will open on Monday 2nd July 2018 and will close at 11:59pm on Friday 10th August 2018

Information Sessions

We are holding an information session on how to use SmartyGrants the on line application system used for all Council grant programs. The session will be held on Level 3 at Council's Greensborough offices at I Flintoff Street on Tuesday 10 July between 2pm and 3pm.

We are also holding one on one information sessions to help you understand the grants program:

Thursday 12 July

  • Morning Session: 9am - 12.30pm
  • Evening Session: 5pm to 7pm

Banyule Equipment Grants - open all year

A grant pool of up to $50,000 per annum is available for community groups to purchase minor equipment, up to the value of $2,500, in order to provide services to the Banyule community.

The equipment grants, part of our Community Grants Program, are available each month, until the allocations have been exhausted.

The grants open on the first day of the month, and close at midnight on the last day of the month. Groups are eligible to apply for a grant once every 12 months.
