You need to control your dog whenever you leave home. This helps to protect people, your pet, and other animals.

These parks have fully fenced, off-lead exercise areas with park benches, dog waste bins and drinking fountains with attached dog bowls.

Cleaning up after your dog

  • We provides emergency dog waste bags in high-use locations (always bring your own bags).
  • If dispensers are empty, dog owners and walkers will need to wait until these are refilled (twice per week).
  • Dog waste can go in any general rubbish bin (red lid) in our parks and reserves.
  • Dog waste cannot go in a food and organics (green lid) or recycling (yellow lid) bin.
  • If there are no public bins nearby, take the bagged waste home with you and dispose of it in your household rubbish bin.
  • All fixed public bins can be used for dog waste.
  • Remember, dog waste can spread disease and contaminate our waterways.

Fines and the law

You can be fined up to $600 if you do not pick up after your dog or if you do not carry dog waste bags, as required by Community Local Law 2025 (2015). An authorised officer may request to see that you have disposal bags.
