Banyule-grants-recipients-2025

Congratulations to the recipients of our grants program, who were recognised at our grants presentation evening on 19 November 2025.

This annual event is all about celebrating projects that will make a real difference across Banyule in the year ahead. We are proud to support local groups, individuals and businesses through our grants program, helping them bring ideas to life that make our community an even better place to live.

Grants were awarded across three categories:

  • 27 Community Grants
  • 15 Environment Grants
  • 6 Arts and Culture Grants

One of this year’s recipients was Diamond Valley Community Support (DVCS). Their project will replace six outdated computers that cannot support Windows 11, ensuring volunteers have access to modern technology.

Nadia Chevriaut, from DVCS, shared what inspired them to apply. “It has been announced that Windows 10 will no longer be supported following October 2025, so all our computers need to be upgraded. Six of our devices simply couldn’t handle Windows 11 and needed replacing,” she said.

This upgrade will make a big difference for DVCS and the community.

“Our volunteers will be able to continue providing support to clients—accessing and maintaining records, making referrals, creating rosters and promotional material. Plus, having access to the latest technology will help them in other areas of life, like job searching and staying socially connected, Nadia added.

“Receiving the grant means DVCS can keep its emergency relief funds focused where they’re needed most. The cost of these computers equates to 1,400 bags of non-perishable food items for people in need. Thanks to this grant, we don’t have to divert those funds.”

Nadia also highlighted the challenge this funding helps overcome: “Technology is essential for meeting legal requirements around safely storing client files and reporting to DHS. This grant takes a huge weight off our shoulders.”

We’re thrilled to see projects like this creating real impact in Banyule. Congratulations again to all our grant recipients, you’re helping build a stronger, more connected community.
