We are commissioning 2 local artists to present original, temporary public art projects across Banyule, with each artist receiving $5,000 to deliver their work in early 2026.

Whether you're just curious about public art or ready to apply for Art in Public Spaces 2026, this session will offer inspiration, practical advice, and a chance to connect with fellow creatives.

What to expect

• Talk by artist Joel Gailer on contemporary ideas, practice and approaches to public art.
• Learn about the Art in Public Spaces program and artist brief, with time for questions.
• Get practical tips on applying.
• A chance to network with other artists over light refreshments.
