Councillor Expense Register

Under section 40 of the Local Government Act 2020, councillors are entitled to reimbursement of legitimate expenses that have been incurred in the performance of their duties.

Our Council Expense Policy specifies the procedure and type of expense for reimbursement. It is important to note that these expenses are separate to the councillor allowance as set by the Victorian Independent Remuneration Tribunal.

As at 18 December 2025 the following allowances are payable for a category 3 Council role:

  • Mayor: $146,320
  • Deputy Mayor: $73,159
  • Councillor: $45,807
