The new pavilion at Macleod Park has opened for the winter footy season, with Macleod Junior Football Club enjoying the new facilities. Macleod Park is home to Macleod Cricket Club in summer.

Some key features of the redevelopment include:

  • female-friendly change rooms for players and umpires
  • flexible playing layout for multiple teams and formats
  • storage areas to meet long-term equipment needs
  • social/community room for presentations and community events
  • kitchen and canteen to help ensure club sustainability
  • office and timekeeper’s room.

Macleod Park is the latest in a series of new and upgraded pavilions completed by Council over the past decade.

Speaking at the pavilion opening last month, Banyule Mayor Cr Alison Champion said “This investment is about more than bricks and mortar; it is about creating accessible, welcoming spaces for sport, fostering club growth and expanding participation opportunities for current and future generations of players, volunteers and families.”

The pavilion was jointly funded by the Victorian Government ($1.82 million) and Banyule Council ($2.4 million).
