Introduction to Scrivener software for writers

Join our artist-in-residence, Patsy Stierna, in a free workshops to learn how to use Scrivener, an amazing writing tool for aspiring writers age 18+.

At the workshop, Patsy will show you how she has used this tool to write 2 books.

About the software

Scrivener is a software package for organising text and images. A user can create multiple folders containing projects, documents, images and more.

The user dashboard screen has a sidebar listing these in an ordered structure: any item can be retrieved and displayed at any time. Any of these files can be modified and rearranged, with a version-control function to keep track of earlier versions.

What to bring

You must bring your own laptop with the free 30-day trial of the software installed. Scrivener can be downloaded as a free trial through Literature & Latte.

Book for only one of the sessions, as they will be the same.

Getting there and away

Arrive via the Hurstbridge train line with a 5-minute walk from Ivanhoe Train Station. Bus routes 510, 546, 548 and 549 stop on Upper Heidelberg Road near or directly at the library.

Accessibility

Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub has accessible parking, a drop-off zone at the front of the building, wheelchair access (everywhere except for the mezzanine), hearing loop system (only can be used with our internal PA systems), accessibility lifts, changing places and accessible hoist-equipped toilets.
