Proposed part road discontinuance

Banyule City Council (Council) gives notice of its proposal to discontinue part of the ‘road’ (RW014) abutting 8-12 Scotts Parade and 8 Russell Street, Ivanhoe and sell the resultant land by private treaty.

This proposal is made under section 206 and clause 3 of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act) and section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020.

A person has a right to make a submission to Council on the proposal to discontinue part of the ‘road’ (RW014) in accordance with section 223 of the Act. 

Written submissions to Council quoting reference No: F2024/1743, must be received by 5pm on Friday 24 October 2025. Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Banyule City Council and delivered to 1 Flintoff Street, Greensborough or 275 Upper Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe, posted to PO Box 94 Greensborough 3088 or made onlinevia the link below.

Submissions will be considered at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 10 November 2025 beginning at 7pm at Banyule City Council, 275 Upper Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe.  Council will consider whether to discontinue part of the ‘road’ (RW014) and sell the resultant land at a subsequent Ordinary Council Meeting.

If you wish to be heard at the Council meeting in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, you must state this in your written submission.

If no submissions are received, Council may, at its meeting on 10 November 2025, decide whether to discontinue the section of ‘road’ and sell the resultant land.  

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
