We have a new peer-to-peer skills sharing initiative that will bring local artists together to share knowledge through interactive workshops and sessions. It is designed to foster connection, collaboration and creative growth.

Local artists have called for more meaningful, artist-led opportunities to connect and collaborate, and we have listened.

What we are seeking

We are seeking artists interested in facilitating a workshop or session as part of the program in 2026.

You will be invited to share a specific skill or area of knowledge from a creative practice that could benefit the local creative community. It will be delivered as a workshop or session, encouraging learning, discussion or hands-on participation.

What we are offering

Artists will be provided with:

  • a facilitation fee of between $400-600 (dependent on length)
  • materials costs (subject to discussion)
  • venue and marketing/administrative support to deliver the workshop or session.

Workshops

Workshops will run for approximately 1-2 hours, though this can be negotiated to be longer. Date and time will be arranged between the artist and the Arts & Culture Team, depending on availability of artist.

Skills and knowledge could include, but are not limited to:

  • administrative and business skills: marketing, grant writing, budgeting, project management
  • digital tools: photography, video editing, website creation, social media
  • communication: copywriting, public speaking, facilitation
  • creative techniques: public art, creative writing, painting, sculpture, performance, music, digital art
  • any fun creative activity others might enjoy learning or experimenting with.

For artists new to giving workshops, this is a chance to gain or strengthen facilitation experience in a supportive environment. However, artists should be willing and comfortable to run the session independently.

Tell us you are interested

Before you submit an expressions of interest:

  • be sure to understand what the workshop is are you proposing
  • think of up to 3 ideas/possibilities and why each would be useful or interesting for other artists or creatives
  • consider time of year would you ideally like to host this session
  • prepare a bio or CV about your creative practice.

This opportunity closes on 4 March 2026.
