Annual community satisfaction survey
Published on 02 February 2026
We are currently conducting a survey of Banyule households with the help of Metropolis Research. This survey is referred to as the Community Satisfaction Survey.
A randomly selected group of 800 residents will be invited to take part.
The survey is conducted in an interview style. If you are selected, an interviewer from Metropolis Research will complete the survey with you.
Metropolis Research staff carry photo ID, and will provide participants with an introductory letter from Council’s Mayor, Alison Champion.

Responses, data collected and what's done
Every year, we ask a randomly selected group of local households to take part in the Community Satisfaction Survey. This survey helps us understand how well we’re meeting community needs, where we’re doing well, and where we can improve. It’s one of the most valuable ways we can hear directly .
Your answers will help inform Council planning and decision-making, supporting better services and outcomes for the Banyule community.
What will the survey ask about?
The survey focuses on residents' views and experiences of council performance and community life in Banyule. It asks residents to rate satisfaction with Council across areas such as:
- Overall Council performance
- Value for money in services and infrastructure
- Community consultation and engagement
- Whether decisions are made in the interest of the community
- Experiences of customer service, local infrastructure, facilities, and services
- Community connection and how safe you feel in Banyule
- Overall Council direction
Privacy and confidentiality
Your privacy is our priority. Only Council and our trusted research partner will see your responses. No names or addresses are collected in the survey. Council will never share information that could identify you or your household with other Council departments or any government agencies. The information you provide is used only for research purposes to help Council understand community views and identify opportunities for improvement.
