Directional signage

Directional signs help road users find community facilities like sporting clubs, hospitals, and other not-for-profit organisations.

You can apply to have up to 3 signs installed.

Eligibility

Only not-for-profit organisations can apply for directional signs.

This includes:

  • sporting clubs
  • community centres
  • neighbourhood houses
  • social enterprises
  • religious organisations
  • and other community-based facilities.

Applications must be submitted by a representative of the organisation.

Who cannot apply

We will not consider applications from commercial or for-profit organisations, including private businesses, retail premises or any venue operated for commercial gain.

Steps to apply

Step 1.Location

You can have up to 3 signs installed, each at a unique location. However, we will make the final determination on the number of signs to be placed.

Take note on what intersections you propose for your signage and if there are existing traffic poles where they can be affixed.

You can still apply if there are no existing poles at your proposed location(s).

Step 2.Wording

You can have between 1-3 words on your sign, all within 75 characters in total.

Select wording that the public will easily recognise.

Step 4.Outcome

We will assess your application and notify you within 10 working days on the outcome or to request further information.

Your application will either be accepted or declined.

Step 5.Payment

The fee per sign is paid after you submit an application and if your application is successful.

Payment must be received in full before signage is installed.
