NDIS and you

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides Australians under age 65 who have permanent and significant disability with funding for support and services.

The NDIS helps people with disability to access the support right for them, as well as building skills to connect and participate in our community.

How NDIS works

Applying for NDIS

Find out if you are eligible for the scheme: you must be under 65, a Banyule resident and able to supply details about the nature of your disability.

Applying to access the NDIS

If eligible, you will need to make an access request by phoning 1800 800 110.

If you need help with this process, contact your local NDIS office.

Developing your NDIS plan

Part of your application includes developing a plan that is tailored to your needs, and designed to help you achieve your goals.

Receiving NDIS funding

You will receive funding on an annual basis to buy the services, aids and equipment that you have been assessed as needing: all from the service provider or providers of your choice.
