Proposed discontinuance of road abutting 53 Green St, Ivanhoe

Banyule City Council (Council) gives notice of its proposal to discontinue a section of road known as RW054 (‘road’) adjacent to 53 Green Street, Ivanhoe and sell the resultant land to the owners of 53 Green Street, Ivanhoe by private treaty.

This proposal is made under s.206 and Clause 3 of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act) and s.114 of the Local Government Act 2020.

A plan identifying the ‘road’ proposed to be discontinued can be viewed below or during normal business hours at Banyule City Council located at 1 Flintoff Street Greensborough.

A person has a right to make a submission to Council on the proposal to discontinue the ‘road’ in accordance with section 223 of the Act. 

Written submissions to Council quoting reference No F2021/4842, must be received by 5pm on 5 November 2025. Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Banyule City Council and delivered to 1 Flintoff Street, Greensborough, 275 Upper Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe, posted to PO Box 94 Greensborough 3088 or made online via the link below.

Submissions will be considered at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on Monday 1 December 2025 beginning at 7pm at Banyule City Council (address to be confirmed).  Council will consider whether or not to discontinue the ‘road’ and sell the resultant land at a subsequent meeting.

If you wish to be heard at the Council meeting in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, you must state this in your written submission.

If no submissions are received, Council may, at its Ordinary Meeting on Monday 1December 2025, decide whether or not to discontinue the ‘road’ and sell the resultant land.  

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
