Cultural walk at Barrbunin Beek

Next date: Saturday, 06 September 2025 | 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Visual artwork celebrating First Nations culture.

Join us for an exciting event at one of our amazing cultural spaces, Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place, featuring Wurundjeri Elders.

The event will follow the newly installed Spirit Trail along the Darebin Creek where you can learn about our First Nations seasons.

We will then return to Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place for a yarn around the fire, listening, learning and connecting with First Nations Culture.

What to bring

Please ensure you have weather appropriate clothing, closed toed shoes and drinking water.

Children are very welcome and encouraged to attend but must be under parent or guardian supervision at all times.

About RiverFest 2025

We are proud to be a partner for The Greening the Birrarung project, which brings together Traditional Owners, councils, agencies and communities to restore and protect biodiversity along the Birrarung (Yarra river) from source to sea.

This partnership honours Traditional Owner knowledge which understands the Birrarung is a living entity, enhances wildlife corridors, supports habitat restoration and inspires collective action for a healthier, thriving Birrarung.

As part of Riverfest 2025, our partners are hosting a fantastic series of event led by Wurundjeri woi-wurrung representatives.
