Rethink Centre - a destination for waste and recycling education
The Rethink Centre offers a host of educative and entertaining programs for all age groups that explore how we are ‘Living in a Material World’.
Multimedia, presenter-led experiential activities guide groups through the waste minimisation hierarchy of Avoid, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and show how these actions help achieve environmental sustainability.
The program is suitable for professional and community groups, primary, secondary and tertiary students, as well as young adult and mature age ESL students. Content can be customised according to your group’s needs and is supported by technical information.
The program is curriculum relevant, caters for Foundation - Year 10 levels and incorporates theatrical performance as an interactive teaching tool for Foundation - Year 6 students.
The Rethink Centre caters for up to 115 visitors per session and is part of a working industrial site devoted to waste and recycling. The site includes a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and is only 7 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD.
