If your pet goes missing, call Council during business hours on 9490 4222 and record your pet’s details on the Lost and Found Register. Alternately, visit Nillumbik Regional Pound (Nillumbik Pound 290-304 Yan Yean Road, PLENTY - open 7 days a week, 8am to 11am.
If you have found an animal that you can contain to your property, please call Council's after hours emergency service (24 hour service) on 9490 4222 to arrange its pickup.
If your dog is wearing its Council registration tag or is micro chipped, and is found by Council, we will make every effort to return it to your property while someone is at home, to ensure pet security. If nobody’s home, we’ll leave a message for you (if possible), letting you know that your pet has been taken to the pound. Cats collected by Council are housed at the Cat Protection Society located at 200 Elder Street, Greensborough. Their opening hours are 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 2pm Saturday and Sunday. Their contact phone number is 9434 7155 (Monday to Friday only).
