Banyule BPi - Building permits, applications and advice

Banyule BPi is a well-established building permit provider, offering excellent service and competitive rates. Our goal is to provide you with efficient service and expert advice.

Building permit turnaround

Having received and registered a Building Permit application, one of our Building Surveyors will endeavour to assess it within 3 weeks, however this turnaround time can vary throughout the year and it is recommended you contact us when you're applying to find out what the assessment time is.

If the plans comply with the Building Regulations, a Building Permit will be issued.

In the case that further information or documentation is required, a request will be posted, faxed or emailed to the contact (depending on your preferred method of delivery). Once all required information has been received, a Building Permit will be issued, generally within 5 working days.

Booking a building inspection

Bookings for inspections must be made at least 24 hours prior to the inspection time, which can be done by contacting the office directly on 9433 7777, or by emailing your request (including property address, date and type of inspection required) to inspections@banyulebpi.com.au

Building Inspection Reports

An individual report is sent out (via the preferred delivery method) on the morning following the inspection, advising the result of the inspection.

Occupancy Permits can be issued within 24 hours of an approved site inspection provided all certification has been received (including plumbing, electrical, termite, insulation & 5 Star certification)

Relevant Building Surveyors

If you’re a building surveyor and have a client project within Banyule the Building Act 1993 sets out your reporting obligations (see section 80s30 and s73).

Keep your reporting up to date and lodge the project details now.
