Notice of intention of road discontinuance

Responses will be received until 5pm on 3 August 2021.

Banyule City Council (Council) gives notice of its proposal to discontinue a section of road known as RW243 (‘road’) adjacent to 7 Dunstan Street, Macleod and sell the resultant land to the owners of 7 Dunstan Street, Macleod by private treaty.

This proposal is made under s.206 and Clause 3 of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act) and s.114 of the Local Government Act 2020.

A person has a right to make a submission to Council on the proposal to discontinue the road in accordance with section 223 of the Act.

Public notice for road discontinuance at 7 Duncan Street

Submissions will be considered at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on Monday 30 August 2021 beginning at 7pm at Banyule City Council. Council will consider whether or not to discontinue the road and sell the resultant land at a subsequent meeting.

If you wish to be heard at the Council meeting in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, you must state this in your written submission.

If no submissions are received, Council may, at its Ordinary Meeting on Monday 30 August 2021, decide whether or not to discontinue the road and sell the resultant land.

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
