Walk to School month in Banyule is back again this October, encouraging kids to walk, ride or scoot to and from school.
In partnership with VicHealth, the campaign is a great way to help students learn healthy habits and achieve the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity every day. It also gets cars off the road and helps the environment.
Last year 140,303 kids from 759 Victorian primary schools clocked up more than 1.6 million kilometres – the equivalent of two return trips to the moon!
Many of our local primary schools are on board again this year, aiming to beat this total – including Ivanhoe Primary School which features in our 2018 Walk to School in Banyule video.
