Rosanna Station and Ellesmere Parade parking and traffic changes

Thu 15 June, 2017

Rosanna Station car park closures

Works at Rosanna Station will be ramping up this month as we start installing the foundations for the new elevated rail structure and preparing the site for major works later in the year.

As a result, the car park on the east side of Rosanna Station (adjacent to Turnham Avenue) will be closed from early July until late 2018.

Alternative commuter car parking will be provided nearby at the following locations:

  • All-day parking on Ellesmere Parade – parking will be available between Lower Plenty Road and Davies Street (over 100 spaces)
  • All-day parking on sections of Beetham Parade and Station Road (approximately 60 spaces).

From mid-September, the car park on the west side of Rosanna Station (adjacent to Beetham Parade) will also close, along with the pedestrian crossing over the railway line. Pedestrians will be detoured via Lower Plenty Road. This area will be required until late-2018.

In addition to the closures outlined above, around 150 spaces in the eastern car park will be temporarily closed between 5am, Saturday 24 June and midnight, Sunday 25 June 2017, to allow for vegetation removal.

Changes to Ellesmere Parade

To provide space for alternative car parks during the works, Ellesmere Parade will become one way (southbound) between Lower Plenty Road and Davies Street from the end of June 2017 until late 2018. This reconfiguration will require the removal of some trees.

While the pedestrian crossing in Rosanna Station car park will remain open until mid-September, it will close occasionally to allow for works. If closed, pedestrians will be detoured via Lower Plenty Road.

From mid-September, pedestrians moving from the east to the west side of Rosanna Station will be unable to use the pedestrian crossing in the station car park. There will be detours via Lower Plenty Road.
