Were Street will come alive in February as it welcomes back all the colour, fun and festivities of Melbourne’s most inclusive Midsumma street party - Qwere Street Summer Vibes.
Everyone is welcome at this free LGBTIQ+ friendly event that promises to have something to tickle every party goer’s fancy.
Banyule Mayor, Cr Wayne Phillips, said that Qwere St Summer Vibes has become a much anticipated event on the Banyule community calendar.
“This street party is a great way for us to come together and celebrate the great diversity of the Banyule community.”
“I’m really pleased to see Council and the Montmorency Traders’ Association working together again to support and unify the community in such a vital and vibrant way.”
The street will be bursting at the seams with music, activities and food for all to enjoy. There will be: roving entertainment and live performances from bands including Rewind 80’s, The Meltdown, Horns of Leroy, and Sex on Toast; a kids’ zone including a jumping castle, waterslide and GymBus; a Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream stand, and much more.
