Big weekend of free family friendly events

Mon 26 February, 2018

Banyule’s biggest weekend of free family fun kicks off with Twilight Sounds on Saturday 17 March.

This year’s line-up features folk-pop headliners OH Pep!, six-piece Tempus Sun, the jazz-folky Tulalah and newcomers Nightlight. In between band sets will be roving performers, free creative play for children, and food and drink choices from food trucks and a brewery.

Next morning, a Grand Parade celebrating multicultural stories and characters will make its way down Burgundy Street from 10am to Sills Bend. The Kids ArtyFarty Fest will start at 11am and continue the multicultural story theme in a jam-packed day of play and fun for big and little kids alike.

Banyule Mayor Cr Mark Di Pasquale said 17-18 March would be a weekend of Council’s most popular events.

“The Twilight Sounds, Grand Parade and Kids ArtyFarty Fest bring the whole community together,” he said.

“No matter what your age or where you live within Banyule, these events gives us all an opportunity to have some fun, share time with others and spend time at our very own slice of nature at Sills Bend on the banks of the Yarra.”
