Apply now for a Council grant

Thu 12 July, 2018

Applications are now open for five kinds of Banyule Council grants to help local groups and individuals deliver projects that will make Banyule better.

Last year, Sustainable Macleod used its community grant to develop a community tool library.

Ivanhoe Children’s Community Cooperative meanwhile used its environmental sustainability grant to develop a low maintenance composting system to recycle kitchen food waste.

Banyule Mayor Cr Mark Di Pasquale said a grant could be the kick start needed to get bright ideas off the ground.

“Whether you’re a local school, community service, group or individual with a plan to make improve the lives of Banyule residents, we want to hear from you,” Cr Di Pasquale said.

The five grants available are:

  • Community grant for capital works, community projects or equipment delivered by not for profit groups providing local services
  • Arts and culture grant to help individuals and not for profit groups deliver projects that develop, create, present or distribute works to the community
  • Environmental sustainability grant for not for profit groups to conserve resources, reduce waste and pollution and enhance the natural environment
  • Sustainability workshop grant and
  • Household energy assessment grant.

Applications for all five grants close 11.59pm Friday 10 August and must be made online.
