Banyule Council is calling on residents to nominate outstanding volunteers and good neighbours for recognition at the annual Banyule Volunteer Awards during Volunteer Week in May 2019.
Last year 54 individuals and community groups were nominated for awards.
Banyule Mayor Cr Wayne Phillips said volunteers are the backbone of our community.
“Volunteers are making a real difference in this community and the 2019 Banyule Volunteer Awards is a great way to recognise the wonderful work these people are doing.”
“Much of the volunteering in our community goes unseen, but these volunteers and their tireless and selfless commitment to others are helping so many in our community,” Cr Phillips said.
Nominations can be made online in three categories:
- Individual (incorporating Life Time Achievement)
- Young (aged 12-25 years as at 1 January 2018)
- Community groups
Nominations can be made online until midnight Sunday 24 March 2019.
