Neighbourhood Street Parties

Holding a street party

If you wish to hold a party, Banyule City Council has put together a free neighbourhood street party kit and application form to assist residents in having a successful street party. Residents can have a neighbourhood street party in their street, local park or even in a shared space at an apartment block.

Neighbourhood street parties are a free and great way to get to know your neighbours and build community spirit, build friendly relationships, enjoy conversations and meet new residents.

Each approved party receives free public liability insurance, free Invitation post cards to distribute to their neighbours, free road closures (if applicable), free tip sheets and support.

To host your neighbourhood street party you must have permission from Banyule City Council, so to get your copy of the neighbourhood street party kit and application form, download it here or call Customer Service on 9490 4222.
