Saturday 16 March 2019
5.30pm - 10pm
Beverley Road, Heidelberg
Twilight Sounds is Banyule's flagship music event - a fantastic evening of local and popular Australian musicians playing in the relaxing natural environment of Sills Bend in Heidelberg. Come and find your spot to enjoy an evening of melodic tunes, set against the backdrop of a beautiful park embraced by the Yarra River.
We are thrilled to present a lineup covering all the bases - soulf-funk Hammond combo, old-timey country songbird and epic, blistering rock 'n' roll!
Cash Savage & The Last Drinks
Having towered over festival audiences at Golden Plains, Boogie and Sydney Festival, selling out Melbourne venues, and earning rave reviews, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks are on a mighty roll.
An incandescent live band at the height of their powers, led by their mighty frontwoman, whose potent lyrics and impassioned delivery articulate the personal-political issues of these times with all her heart, guts and grit.
Known for their epic live shows, Cash Savage and The Last Drinks released their fourth studio album Good Citizens in 2018.
Cookin' On 3 Burners w/ Stella Angelico
Joining the dots between Deep Funk, Raw Soul, Organ Jazz and Boogaloo, their funky set is squarely placed at the dance floor and then Sunday afternoon BBQ.
Cookin' On 3 Burners will bring it all to a boiling point with smokin' soulstress Stella Angelico. With the Kungs vs Cookin' On 3 Burners version of their classic soul joint 'This Girl' hitting number one in France, Germany and the UK earning them a nomination for 'Song of the Year' at the 2016 ARIA Awards.
Freya Josephine Hollick
She recently released a new e.p, new single, 3 Age Music Victoria Award Nominations, plus festival appearances at Nannup Music Festival, Boogie Festival, Gumball, Broadbeach Country Music Festival - and many more!
With a voice that floats between Maybelle Carter, Dolly Parton and Skip James, Freya Josephine Hollick is a lady not to be missed.
Originating in a garage in Bundoora, this three-piece indie-rock bank from Northern Melbourne, aren't your average band. Comprising of local legends Holly, Nathan and Jackson, Dover Island brings raw energy to every performance. Supporting them on their journey is Jets Records, a youth managed non-for-profit label who have been working with local musicians in Banyule since 2015.
Their set at Twilight Sounds is a taste of what to expect when Dover's EP Participation Award drops later in March this year.
