This year's event features an amazing lineup of Melbourne's best Indie-Pop bands, headlined by Oh Pep! Come and find your spot to enjoy an evening of melodic tunes, set against the backdrop of a beautiful park embraced by the Yarra River.

Set Times:

Emerging from the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne nightlight is Jets Records latest signing. Realising they could make music better together nighlight formed to create sweet synth-pop rap that is good for the soul.

Meeting in high school, vocalist Laura Lazzara and keys player Hayley Austen have worked to establish themselves as producers and writers to be reckoned with. The young guns have taken inspiration from acts as far apart as Ludovico Einaudi and Little Simz to weave together tunes that sound closer to Mallrat, and make you want to dance.

Now in its 45th year the JetStart program is a joint initiative between Jets and Leisure & Culture.

Tulalah is a Melbourne based art-rock ensemble. Tulalah reach beyond the confines of their instrumentation to create an ever-expansive sound that flows effortlessly through many musical landscapes. Lush vocal chorales, soaring into powerful horn arrangements, juxtaposed against rhythmic guitar. Tulalah’s debut LP, The Flood captured the attention of tastemakers, described as, “A little bit folky, soul, jazz, fabulous stuff!” Their second LP, The Question, furthered the development of their musical voice with a unique ‘contemporary meets orchestral’ work. Tulalah are currently working on their third LP and developing an awe-inspiring live show. We can’t wait to hear them live!

8:00PM | OH PEP!

Oh Pep.jpg

Our headline act is Oh Pep! Led by Olivia Hally and Pepita Emmerichs, who met at The VCA Music Secondary School in Melbourne, were drawn together by a shared love of songs with no boundaries or expectations. The duo, now both 24, have since unveiled three EPs, but it’s their debut album, Stadium Cake, that truly showcases Hally and Emmerichs’ uniquely compelling collaboration.

Oh Pep! has been bringing their recordings to the stage for years, first trekking around Australia and then touring internationally since early 2015. They’ve performed at CMJ, SXSW and Nashville’s Americana Music Festival, and for Seattle’s KEXP and NPR’s Tiny Desk. NPR's Bob Boilen proclaimed that “the Melbourne band’s music is infectious. Their harmonies are sweet, with lyrics that are thoughtful, deep, funny and poetic.”

Tempus Sun is comprised of 6 solo singer-songwriters and musicians with their own individual fan base from across Australia. They won the Bank of Melbourne Band competition winning $60k of marketing and support from this important sponsor. Tempus Sun are packing out Melbourne Hotels and pride themselves on the size, quality and engagement of their live shows.

The Skulls
(roving between sets)

The Skulls is a raucous roving musical that will keep the crowd tapping their toes between sets. The Skulls consist of four award-winning performers who smash circus, puppetry, magic and theatre together with a deadly live soundtrack. The Skulls are exuberant ghouls from the after-life reminding us to cherish every moment. Like masquerades from New Orleans, Taiwan and Mexico, The Skulls is a celebration of life.
