Despite the lockdown restrictions in place, your bins will still be collected, and we're still able to answer your calls. Stay safe, stay home and if you go out for any of the 6 reasons, remember your mask.

I've lived in Banyule for 13 years with my husband and 3 kids, and we really enjoy the lifestyle the area offers. We love spending time together going on family bike rides, meeting friends in Banyule's great parks, and growing veggies in the backyard. Over the past 7 years, I've been very involved with our preschool and primary school communities, and projects that help women return to the workforce after fleeing domestic violence. It was this involvement with the local community that inspired me to run for Council and make a difference for the broader community.
It's vital for wellbeing that we connect with fellow Banyule neighbours and those we share similar interests with. Creating a close-knit community spirit and bringing residents together with events and initiatives is extremely important. Increasing awareness of Council services, and supporting local businesses, organisations and residents facing financial hardship, have become priorities for Council during COVID-19. Integrity, transparency, and responsible budgets are some of the hallmarks of an effective Council and what I strive for.
We need to provide continued support for residents and businesses as they deal with the challenges following COVID-19. Youth issues and mental health remain key areas that need attention, as does maintaining our natural environment and staging events for people to enjoy. Communicating effectively with residents, including around the North East Link, is also important for Council to continue.
