Four Year Old Programs

Council operates a central enrolment service for four year old programs to help with the planning of pre school services within Banyule. There are 29 preschools in the area. Enrolments are currently being accepted for 2009 and 2010. An Enrolment form can be obtained from any Pre school or Maternal and Child Health Centre throughout Banyule, or can be downloaded via the link below. Forms should be returned to Council as soon as possible as preschool places are allocated in date of enrolment order.

Enrolments for 4 year old programs in 2011 will be accepted from March 2009. As preschool places are allocated in date of enrolment order, it is best to enrol your child as early as possible.

Three Year Old Programs
Each pre school operates its own enrolment system for three-year-old programs. Parents need to enquire with the Pre School of their choice. Children need to be 3 years old prior to commencing a 3 year old pre school program.

Audrey Brooks Memorial Preschool

Our preschool aims to create a happy, safe and caring environment where children are encouraged to learn, to play and to have fun. The preschool has a spacious playroom and an additional room which we use for lunch, music, movement and other activities. We are also fortunate in having a specially designed, outdoor playground.

The kindergarten sessions are either:

Blue Group:       Wednesday and Friday 9.00 am - 3.00 pm or
Yellow Group:   Tuesday and Thursday 9.00 am - 3.00 pm

The children are asked to bring along lunch and a drink to each session and breakfast is also available, if needed. Qualified and experienced staff are employed to educate and care for your children.

The Banyule City Council assists in the costs associated with operating the kindergarten, but families are expected to pay fees each term to cover the costs of materials and equipment used by the children.

Olympic Village Preschool

Our preschool welcomes all families and provides an excellent program. It is well equipped with a wide variety of play and learning materials. The outdoor playground is large and has a covered sandpit, a digging patch as well as play equipment. We offer a safe and caring environment where children are encouraged to learn, to play and to have fun.

The kindergarten sessions are either:

Red Group:      Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 am - 3 pm or
Green Group:  Monday and Wednesday 9:00am - 3 pm

Banyule City Council supports this preschool and pays some of the costs associated with operating the preschool, but all parents are expected to pay fees each term. Our preschool is maintained by Banyule City Council so that our playground is well equipped and always looks attractive. We also have a terrific range of indoor equipment such as puzzles, books, train sets, dress ups etc. Parent's fee money is used to provide paint, paper, playdough, clay and other materials for the children to use each day.

Fees for 2007/2008 at both preschools are:
No charge for  Health Care Card holders
$102.50 per term for other low income families
$170.50 per term for families who do not receive Family Allowance
