Community Support and Liaison Officer

The Community Support and Liaison Officer works with agencies, families and community groups and co-ordinates activities such as:
 
- usage of buildings by non-profit community groups
- support of community based agencies/groups
- referral for emergency relief
- Banyule Festival
- Children's Week activities
- Child Protection week

The Community Support and Liaison Officer also co-ordinates the Christmas Toys for Tots Campaign and Christmas/New Year Children's Holiday Camps Campaign that are specifically run for children from disadvantaged families who reside in Banyule. These children are referred by the appropriate agencies.

Services provided at the centres include: social work, financial counselling, dental care, podiatry, physiotherapy, psychology, problem gambling counselling, further education, nutrition and dietary service, occupational therapy, speech pathology, youth health service, community health service, occasional care and legal services.

Bansic is an information, support and referral service provided by trained volunteers. Information on a wide range of topics is available either in written form (over 1000 pamphlets) or over the phone. Appointments can also be made for the following services available at Bansic:
- personal and family counselling
- legal service
- Centrelink assistance
- taxation help
- budget advice

All services are free and confidential.

Migrant Resource Centre

Provides assistance with Centrelink, immigration advice, housing and accommodation, English classes and education, social and cultural groups, family welfare, translating and interpreting service and counselling to new arrivals/people from non English speaking backgrounds.

Parentline
Telephone information, advice and referral service designed for parents of children of all ages. Parentline is staffed by professionally trained advisers who can assist with a range of problems and everyday questions. Parentline is staffed 24 hours a day. Phone 13 22 89.
