Banyule Early Years Plan

The Banyule Municipal Early Years Plan, "Building Futures 2006 - 2009", was produced after extensive community consultation with parents, children and service providers.

Children and families are a vital component of the Banyule community and the Early Years Plan provides a framework and targeted response to the issues identified by families. The plan also provides opportunities to more closely align the activities and facilities of service providers with the needs and aspirations of families living in Banyule.

The plan engages a whole of Council approach to achieve this goal in partnership with the community and services across the municipality, promoting optimum health and wellbeing of all children regardless of their social, economic or cultural backgrounds and provide our children with the best start in life.

A key outcome of the Early Years Plan is the promotion of literacy for children 0-5 years in Banyule.  The Yarra Plenty Regional Library service provides a range of programs that promote reading and build confidence in children.
