Significant Tree Register

The Significant Tree and Vegetation Study has identified over 300 trees and areas of vegetation that are significant within the City of Banyule. The trees are significant by virtue of their size, age, rarity, form or historical and cultural associations. They have now been protected by a Planning Scheme Amendment. This requires that a permit be obtained from Council before destroying, removing or lopping a tree, or for buildings and works within 5 metres of their canopy.

The study is available in local libraries and can be purchased from Council for $41.00.
